Bahía de Kino

About this campground

Imagine waking up with the first rays of sun reflecting on the sea, walking barefoot on soft sand, and hearing the murmur of the Sea of Cortez while you prepare your coffee next to your tent: Bahía del Sol is exactly that place. This oasis on the coast is located in Kino Viejo, within the emblematic Bahía de Kino, Sonora, a destination where nature, tranquility, and adventure meet in perfect harmony.

History of the place

Bahía del Sol

Each camping plot is carefully designed to offer comfort and connection with the surroundings: spacious, shaded areas under palms and acacias with direct sea views, electrical hookups and water points for caravans and family tents, clean bathrooms with warm showers, fire pit and grill areas for nights by the fire, and exclusive zones to enjoy spectacular sunsets from benches or hammocks facing the horizon. This campground is not just a place to sleep, but a meeting point with nature, with the sound of the waves as a soundtrack and starry skies that will stay in your memory long after you return home. From Bahía del Sol you can explore many wonders of the region: white-sand beaches and calm waters for swimming and walking, sunrise kayak or paddleboard excursions, cultural visits to the Seri Museum and Eusebio Kino Plaza to learn local history, boat rides to Shark Island to observe marine wildlife or snorkel, and guided walks along coastal trails and dunes that reveal a unique blend of desert and sea.

Who hosts it

Bahía del Sol is hosted by a local family passionate about the sea and hospitality, who will welcome you with recommendations for tours, fishing, places to eat fresh seafood, and the best sunset spots.

How to get there

Bahía del Sol is strategically located minutes from the waterfront and the traditional pier with the iconic town letters, perfect for unforgettable photos. From Hermosillo, an approximately 100 km drive along a state highway takes you from the desert to a peaceful coast bathed by the Sea of Cortez.
